Karama
Karama, a residential district of Dubai, is located
in close proximity to Dubai Creek and the busy older areas of
Dubai. It extends almost two kilometers between one of the
important diplomatic areas towards the north. Karama is
considered to be one of the best known destinations for cheap
furniture deals along with sale of counterfeit branded goods.
These include a wide variety of goods such as watches,

accessories.
Karama is one of the most populous areas of Dubai and a home
to thousands, although it is just two square kilometers wide,

residents. Tourists often visit the Zabeel Park, which also
helps to divide Karama with Dubai World Trade Centre. There
are several commercial units located at different areas of the

recent times, with development in commercial complexes and
with it number of tourists and residents, there has been a
significant demand of parking spaces in the region. If you

The residents of Karama often complain about the lack of
community life in the region. They often feel that in spite of
the best of location and facilities, the region still lacks a
common focal point. The residents do not seem to connect to
each other. Crime rates are also increasing in the region.
This mainly happened due to the multi cultured residents and
diverse language of the people. It created a virtual cultural
and language barrier among the residents. However, in the
recent months, a lot of effort is being made to give Karama a
rich culture and closeness, in spite of diverse nationals. One
such community is the Omani Contingent who settled in the
regions almost two decades back.
