Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali is a port town that is located about 35 km
from the beautiful city of Dubai. The construction of the port
commenced in the year 1970. It is reputed to be the world’s
longest man-made harbor and the biggest port in the Middle
East.
The Jebel Ali Free Zone was established in 1985. The
industrial area surrounding the port permits those
international companies, which relocate here to enjoy the
special privileges of the free zone. The Jebel Ali Free
Economic Zone offers products and services such as Business
Centers, ready-to-use offices, warehouses, and
infrastructure-ready plots. The Port of Jebel Ali is the most
frequently visited port by ships from all over the world,
especially ships from the United States Navy.
The Al Maktoum International Airport is being constructed
here. It is proposed to be the main part of Dubai World
Central, which is a planned commercial and logistics complex.
Dubai World Central is destined to become the world’s totally
integrated logistic arena, with all modes of transport,
logistics, manufacture, and assembly being integrated in a
free zone environment.
There are a number of excellent and comfortably furnished
hotels in and around the area of Jebel Ali. The Marriott Green
Community’s Courtyard is a wonderful hotel that is set around
a large lake. The hotel is just around the corner from Jebel
Ali, and quite close to Internet City and Media City. It is a

into the Captain’s Bar, which is the ideal spot for drinks,
meals, and snacks. Peep into the IBN Majid, which overlooks
the swimming pool and the beaches and you will find that it is
the right place to dine, during any time of the day or night.
It offers buffets in the day and a la carte fare in the nights
after 11 pm. The Lime Tree is a very popular eatery at any
time of the day or night, where the service is fast and
excellent. It has a fantastic variety of eats and drinks – a
must try place.
Jebel Ali has quite a few interesting things for those
interested in an active night life. The Clipper Bar is famous
for its cocktails. The Balcony Bar and the Barzar should prove
to be interesting. Try the Plantation Bar, the Shooters Bar,
and the Signature Sports Café if you would like to try
something different.
